In a similar incident in Mumbai, seven people lost their lives, and 49 others were injured in a tragic bus crash on Monday evening. The driver of a Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) bus has been arrested and charged with culpable homicide.
According to police, the accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. when the bus, operating on Route 332 between Kurla and Andheri, lost control near the White House building. The vehicle careened into multiple cars, motorcycles, and pedestrians before crashing into a structure at Ambedkar Nagar.
BEST officials stated that the bus sped uncontrollably after the driver, Sanjay More, lost control. More has been detained and will face court proceedings soon.
