12th Fail, 'Based on a true story, inspired by a million stories' to release on October 27th

KRG Studios has announced that the trailer of the film 12th Fail, would be released on October 3rd. The film is being directed by esteemed Vidhu Vinod Chopra and stars Vikrant Massey as the lead. A promotional video of the film was released with the tagline, “Based on a true story, inspired by a million stories.”

12th Fail is based on Anurag Pathak’s book with the same name. It traces the journey of an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and his wife Shraddha Joshi, an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer. 

The book follows an underdog story of a person hailing from a modest rural background clearing one of the most coveted competitive examinations of India, which is theUnion Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination. "If this film inspires even some individuals to strive for honesty and excellence, I would consider it a success,” Shariq Patel, Chief Business Officer, Zee Studios said as per a report in The Hindu. 

“12th Fail portrays students' challenges and enduring friendships, showcasing the resilience and authenticity of student life. Under Vidhu Vinod Chopra's direction, it becomes a compelling cinematic journey celebrating the spirit of youth and triumph over adversity," Shariq added.
