According to initial reports, the plane was returning from Thailand and attempting to land when it encountered an unexpected emergency. Authorities believe a bird strike during descent caused the aircraft to veer off course, leading to the catastrophic accident.
Emergency response teams quickly extinguished the resulting fire and worked to rescue survivors. An official from Muan International Airport confirmed that efforts are ongoing to manage the aftermath and support the victims’ families.
Fire officials noted that the crash caused extensive damage to the airport infrastructure, further complicating rescue operations. Aviation experts have begun investigating the incident to determine the exact sequence of events and assess any procedural or technical lapses.
The tragedy has shocked the nation and drawn international attention, raising questions about flight safety protocols and wildlife management near airports.
The two survivors are receiving medical treatment, and their condition remains critical.
