In a significant drug bust, Bengaluru police have arrested two South African nationals for allegedly possessing 38  kilograms of MDMA, a powerful synthetic drug, valued at approximately Rs 75 crore. The suspects, identified as Adonis Jabulile and Olijo Evans were reportedly in the city and travelled to Delhi from Bengaluru at least 59 times in the last six months. Upon interrogation, the police learned that the two had smuggled drugs from an international location, intending to distribute them in Bengaluru and other parts of India.

This seizure marks one of the largest  drug-related arrests in Bengaluru in recent years. The police stated that the MDMA, often associated  with rave parties and recreational drug use, has seen a sharp rise in demand, especially among the youth. The drugs were believed to have originated from a network operating outside of India, which had set up a sophisticated trafficking route.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the broader drug trafficking network that may have facilitated the operation. They are also working with international agencies to trace the origins of the drugs and identify other potential suspects involved in the smuggling operation.
