Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) has established a state-of-the-art, round-the-clock medical centre at Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport). The Airport Medical Centre is equipped to handle a range of medical needs, including outpatient consultations, first aid, and diagnostic services such as X-rays and ultrasounds. A specialized emergency response system has also been integrated to manage critical situations efficiently.

Beyond emergency care, the initiative aims to improve preparedness for medical crises by training airport personnel in essential life-saving techniques. This includes awareness programs focused on conditions such as cardiac arrest and strokes, enabling quicker and more effective interventions during emergencies.

The collaboration highlights the growing emphasis on immediate medical assistance at transit hubs, where timely intervention can be crucial. A recent incident at BLR Airport, where a Manipal Hospitals doctor successfully administered CPR to save a passenger’s life, underscores the importance of rapid response mechanisms.

With advanced technology like a digital cardiac monitoring system, the upgraded facility ensures that passengers and airport employees have access to prompt and expert medical attention when needed. The initiative reflects a broader commitment to enhancing passenger safety and well-being at one of India’s busiest airports.
