24x7 medical centre launched at Bengaluru Airport for emergency care

Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) has established a state-of-the-art, round-the-clock medical centre at Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport). Developed in partnership with Manipal Hospitals, the facility is designed to enhance healthcare services for travelers and airport staff, ensuring swift access to life-saving treatment.

The Airport Medical Centre is equipped to handle a range of medical needs, including outpatient consultations, first aid, and diagnostic services such as X-rays and ultrasounds. A specialized emergency response system has also been integrated to manage critical situations efficiently.

Beyond emergency care, the initiative aims to improve preparedness for medical crises by training airport personnel in essential life-saving techniques. This includes awareness programs focused on conditions such as cardiac arrest and strokes, enabling quicker and more effective interventions during emergencies.

A recent incident at BLR Airport, where a Manipal Hospitals doctor successfully administered CPR to save a passenger’s life, underscores the importance of rapid response mechanisms.
