After a 14-year-long extradition battle, Tahawwur Hussain Rana, one of the main accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks is expected to arrive in Delhi today under tight security. The 64-year-old is being brought on a special flight escorted by a team of elite Indian officials. His arrival marks a major breakthrough in India’s persistent pursuit of justice in the case of the 2008 attacks.

However, this is not just a transfer, it’s the beginning of a rigorous and high-stakes interrogation. Top government figures including Home Minister Amit Shah, NSA Ajit Doval, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met on Wednesday to finalize security arrangements and questioning strategy.
Rana will be taken directly to a high-security cell in Tihar Jail, avoiding a public court appearance due to the sensitive nature of the case. His legal team is already activated in anticipation of what's to come.
Officials say Rana is experienced and likely to mislead investigators, making the interrogation a complex process. A special team comprising NIA officers, intelligence personnel, and counterterrorism-trained forensic psychologists will lead the questioning.
Their goal is to uncover the deeper institutional forces behind the deadly 26/11 attacks from across the border.
