As we observe World Mental Health Day today (October 10), Plum, a leading insurance platform, has disclosed a remarkable surge in teleconsultations for mental health issues, with a fourfold increase among individuals aged 21-30 compared to those aged 31-40.

Approximately 73% of the consultations were scheduled by individuals in the 21-30 age bracket, highlighting a growing awareness and acceptance of mental health support.

The top reasons for seeking consultation include anxiety, stress, coping strategies, relationship challenges, self-development, grief and loss, as well as clinical diagnoses.

Notably, the data indicates that around 55% of the consultation requests came from women, while 45% came from men, suggesting that women are more inclined to seek assistance for their mental well-being.

As reported by The New Indian Express, Saurabh Arora, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Plum, emphasized their mission to positively impact people's lives by addressing their physical, mental, and financial well-being.

He also stressed that mental health consultations can often be expensive, and Plum is committed to making mental healthcare more affordable and accessible.
