President Draupadi Murmu hoisted the national flag as India marked its 76th Republic Day with grand celebrations at Delhi’s Kartavya Path. The parade featured a vibrant display of India’s cultural heritage and military prowess.

The event commenced at 10:30 am with the ceremonial hoisting of the tricolor by President Murmu. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, attending as the chief guest, witnessed the spectacle alongside Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, and other dignitaries. This marked President Subianto's first visit to India since assuming office in October 2024.
A highlight of the celebrations was the participation of 5,000 artists performing traditional and contemporary art forms. The parade included impressive tableaus from 15 states and union territories, showcasing the country’s diverse heritage. Karnataka’s tableau, themed "Cradle of Sculpture," featured the historic Lakkundi temple, drawing significant attention for its intricate depiction of the state’s cultural legacy.
Military displays underscored India’s defense capabilities, featuring advanced weaponry such as remote-controlled machine guns and smoke grenade launchers. The Air Force paid floral tributes from the skies, adding to the spectacle.
The parade underscored themes of unity, harmony, and India’s progress in various sectors. Over 10,000 dignitaries and spectators attended the event, celebrating the spirit of the Constitution and the nation’s achievements.
