A recent report by global job site Indeed reveals a significant shift in priorities among Indian employees, with 78% stating they plan to prioritize family time over career advancement in 2025. This change reflects a growing emphasis on work-life balance, mental well-being, and personal interests.

The Future Career Resolution report highlights that employees are seeking less stressful, well-paid jobs that offer flexibility to spend time with spouses, children, and parents.
The report, based on a survey conducted by predictive analytics firm Valuvox, involved over 6,000 employees across Singapore, India, Japan, and Australia, including 2,507 respondents from India.
Optimism in India's job market remains high, with 55% of respondents confident about opportunities in emerging sectors like AI and technology. Employees are preparing by developing diverse skill sets, including emotional intelligence, data literacy, and advanced technology skills like AI, machine learning, and coding.
Furthermore, 59% of Indian workers expect hiring practices to shift toward skills-based recruitment, favoring practical expertise over traditional degrees. This reflects the growing demand for adaptable candidates with specialized abilities, particularly in tech-driven industries.
As employees adapt to evolving workplace trends, the report underscores the importance of aligning career goals with personal values, signaling a transformation in India's employment landscape.
