In response to mounting criticism over his delayed reaction to the Pahalgam terror attack, actor Aamir Khan has offered a clarification, distancing his statement from the promotional activities surrounding his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par. The actor’s condemnation of the attack came several days after the incident, drawing attention for its proximity to the release of his film’s trailer.

Aamir addressed the controversy by stating that the timing was coincidental and unrelated to any marketing strategy. He attributed the delay to his lack of presence on social media, explaining that he isn’t part of the fast-moving digital reactions that typically follow such incidents. According to him, the decision to speak out was guided by moral responsibility rather than publicity concerns.
He further noted that the trailer had initially been planned for release earlier but was postponed due to the gravity of the situation. In a related gesture, the re-release premiere of his 1994 film Andaz Apna Apna was also called off on the day of the attack.
Condemning the violence, Aamir expressed deep concern over the religious targeting of victims and stated that such actions are completely at odds with the values he upholds. His comments were made during an interview with India TV.
