Actor Allu Arjun was arrested on Friday in connection with the tragic stampede at Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of Pushpa-2. The December 4 incident claimed the life of 35-year-old Revathi, leaving her son critically injured and undergoing treatment.
A police team led by an assistant commissioner took Arjun into custody from his residence in the presence of his family. He was escorted to the police station for questioning.

The stampede occurred during Arjun's appearance at the theatre, which drew an uncontrollable crowd. Poor crowd management and inadequate security measures reportedly led to chaos, forcing authorities to resort to a lathicharge. According to the police, the theatre management failed to arrange additional security or provide separate entry and exit points for Arjun’s entourage, despite being informed of his visit.
Three others, including a co-partner of the theatre, had been arrested earlier in connection with the incident. A case was registered against Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Chikkadpally police station following a complaint by Revathi’s family.
Meanwhile, Arjun has filed a plea seeking to quash the FIR and requested a stay on all legal proceedings, including his arrest. The investigation continues as authorities examine lapses leading to the tragedy.
