Sandalwood actor Pratham has announced a dramatic exit from the film industry, citing relentless online trolling and personal threats. The actor has also begun an indefinite hunger strike, demanding an end to toxic trolling by fan pages—particularly those supporting actor Darshan.

One key issue Pratham raised is the trolling of actress-turned-politician Ramya. He strongly condemned the derogatory posts made about her, pointing out that although she left films over 13 years ago, she remains an icon whose influence is deeply felt. “Even if Ramya madam puts her slippers up for auction, they would fetch ₹3 to ₹5 lakh,” he remarked, emphasizing her enduring popularity. Pratham expressed outrage that such a respected figure continues to be targeted by fan pages, demanding they be held accountable.

He called on Darshan to publicly appeal to his fan pages—over 150 in number—to stop trolling not only him but also other industry figures like Sudeep, Ganesh, Yash, and Ashwini Puneeth. Pratham also filed a complaint against individuals named Bekari Raghu and Yasaswini, accusing them of issuing threats. Until his demands are met, he has vowed to continue his fast and remain away from cinema.
