Sandalwood actor and former MP Ramya has taken a firm stand against online abuse, especially from certain sections of fans targeting her Instagram posts. The controversy stems from a post she made recently, addressing fans of actor Darshan amid the ongoing legal proceedings in the Renukaswamy murder case.

In her Instagram story, Ramya welcomed Darshan’s fans to her page with a bold remark: "To all DBoss fans, welcome to my Instagram. Your comments themselves are proof of why Renukaswamy’s family deserves justice." This triggered a wave of abusive messages and vulgar comments directed at her by several Instagram users.
Not one to stay silent, Ramya responded by publicly sharing screenshots of the vile messages she received. In her follow-up post, she stated, “There’s no difference between fan messages and vulgar messages. It’s from this very mindset that rape and murder happen. These trolls are evidence.”
Her posts have sparked wide conversations online, with many expressing support for her bold stance and others debating the toxic culture of blind celebrity worship and its link to online misogyny.
Ramya's move is being seen as an effort to highlight the real-world consequences of online abuse, especially targeting women, and to call out the toxic fan behavior that often goes unchecked.
