Actress Rakul Preet Singh’s brother arrested in major drug trafficking case in Hyderabad

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been investigating a drug trafficking and consumption case for the past four years, involving numerous individuals from the film industry. Recently, the Hyderabad Police arrested Aman Preet Singh, the brother of actress Rakul Preet Singh, along with four others, in connection with an alleged drug case.

Aman Preet Singh, Aniketh Reddy, Prasad, Madhusudhan, and Nikhil Daman were arrested earlier on Monday after the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Department discovered 2.6 kg of cocaine being brought to Hyderabad for sale. The police team successfully busted the drug racket and identified 30 customers of the contraband, including Aman Preet Singh.

All five accused are currently in police custody and will be produced in court following a medical examination. Srinivas, DCP of Cyberabad Police, Rajendra Nagar Zone, stated, "As consumers, we picked up five people and brought them to the police station. In the urine test kit, all of them were found positive. They have been taken into custody. We are now sending them for a detailed medical examination."

During a press meet, the police indicated that further investigation is needed to determine the extent of Aman Preet Singh’s association with the other accused, who include some Indians and Nigerians. "Some of them are repeat offenders. We believe his involvement might be for a year and a half. Aman tested positive for using cocaine in the urine test. It is confirmed that he’s an actor, though it was not specified if he works in Tollywood or elsewhere," the police added.

In 2021, Rakul Preet Singh and other Telugu actors, including Rana Daggubati, Charmme Kaur, Navdeep, Ravi Teja, and Puri Jagannadh, were summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the ongoing drug trafficking and consumption case.
