Bengaluru police have launched a major investigation after actress Ramya filed a complaint citing obscene comments and messages directed at her on social media. The complaint, submitted to the city police commissioner, lists 43 offending accounts, many of which are allegedly operated by fans of actor Darshan.

Following the complaint, the Cyber Crime Police swiftly registered an FIR and began tracking the accounts. Preliminary investigations have revealed that most of these are fake profiles, with several using images of young women and operating through VPNs to conceal their identities. The authorities are now working to trace the IP addresses linked to these accounts to identify those responsible.
Officers have already initiated the process of blocking the fake accounts and are preparing to issue notices under the IT Act. Once the IP addresses are confirmed, suspects will be summoned for questioning.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayananda confirmed that the case has been transferred to the Central Crime Branch (CCB). The investigation is now being supervised by a designated ACP, with oversight from the CCB Joint Commissioner.
This case marks a significant move by law enforcement to curb online harassment and misuse of digital platforms for targeted abuse.
