Sandalwood actress Ranya Rao, known for her roles in Manikya and Pataki, has been caught in an illegal gold smuggling case. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials are actively investigating, uncovering shocking details related to the case.

A raid conducted at Ranya Rao’s Lavelle Road flat in Nandawani Mansion led to the seizure of ₹2.67 crore in cash and gold bars worth ₹14.62 crore, making it the largest gold haul in Bangalore International Airport’s history. Over five DRI officials inspected her residence for hours, recovering three large boxes filled with cash and valuables.
The actress, who married into a prominent political family three months ago, had a grand wedding at Taj West End in Bengaluru. Her husband, a renowned architect, moved into the Lavelli Road flat after their marriage. Authorities are now investigating possible political connections in the case.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also joined the probe, suspecting hawala transactions linked to the smuggling. Officials are tracking Ranya Rao’s foreign trips, with sources revealing she traveled to Dubai 40 times in the last year. Investigators are closely analyzing her international connections and past activities.
With multiple agencies involved, the case is expected to unveil more shocking details as the probe continues.
