Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru has issued an advisory requesting all passengers to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled flights. This move comes in response to intensified security protocols enforced nationwide due to a heightened national security alert. According to sources, enhanced screening procedures have been implemented across airports, and the extra time is necessary to ensure smooth check-in, security checks, and boarding.

Passengers are also advised to stay in touch with their respective airlines for any flight updates or changes. KIA thanked travelers for their cooperation and understanding during this period of increased vigilance.
The advisory follows escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, which have prompted the Bureau of Civil Aviation (BCAS) to impose several new safety measures. These include mandatory secondary checks at the aircraft boarding point, a ban on visitors inside terminal buildings and overall tighter security procedures.
In a related update, Bengaluru International Airport (BIAL) issued another advisory warning of possible flight delays and cancellations due to airspace restrictions. These restrictions were imposed following ‘Operation Sindoor’, a military strike conducted by the Indian Air Force targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operation was launched in retaliation to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu & Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives.
