In a groundbreaking victory, 60-year-old lawyer Alejandra Marisa Rodriguez clinched the title of Miss Universe for the province of Buenos Aires, marking a historic moment as the first woman of her age to achieve such a prestigious honour.

Hailing from Argentina, Alejandra Marisa Rodriguez secured her place in the annals of history with her triumph in the Miss Universe pageant held on April 24, surpassing 34 other contestants spanning ages from 18 to 73.

Born in La Plata, the capital city of Buenos Aires Province, Alejandra embarked on a journey that led her from journalism to law, eventually finding her niche as a legal advisor for a hospital, as reportedly shared in an interview with an Argentine television network.

Alejandra’s perception of her eligibility for global beauty pageants shifted with the change in rules in 2023. Previously, Miss Universe contestants were confined to the narrow age bracket of 18 to 28, mandated to be unmarried and childless. However, the paradigm shifted last year, opening the competition to women aged 18 to 73, irrespective of marital or maternal status, as reported by the New York Post.

Noteworthy for her captivating appearance, Alejandra attributes her radiant demeanor to her lifestyle choices, advocating for a balanced diet and regular physical activity as the cornerstone of her regimen. “The basic thing is to have a healthy life, eat well, do physical activity,” she reportedly emphasized in remarks to the press.
