Ahmedabad air crash: Aircraft crashed into a hostel; 133 dead

In a devastating tragedy, an Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner carrying 242 passengers crashed shortly after takeoff near Ahmedabad airport, killing at least 133 people. The flight, bound for London, lost control and plunged from an altitude of 653 feet before crashing into a nearby hostel building, leading to widespread destruction and panic in the area.

The crash site turned into a scene of chaos as plumes of smoke billowed into the sky. Among the passengers were 53 British nationals, many of whom are feared to be among the casualties.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah rushed to the crash site to assess the situation, accompanied by former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. Authorities have sealed off the area, and the Prime Minister's Office is closely monitoring the situation while seeking detailed reports on the tragedy.

Eyewitnesses described a loud explosion followed by fire and debris. Rescue operations are ongoing, with teams racing against time to locate survivors. Several injured passengers and hostel residents have been taken to nearby hospitals, where emergency care is being provided.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash, as the nation mourns this horrific disaster.
