Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport has suspended all operations on Wednesday after an Air India flight bound for London crashed shortly after takeoff.

According to airport authorities, Flight AI 171, which was en route to London Gatwick, met with an accident just outside the airport premises. The crash occurred shortly after the aircraft departed from the runway, prompting an immediate halt to all flight activities.

“As a result, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad, is currently not operational,” a spokesperson confirmed.
