At the LHIF 2025 (Lifesciences Health Innovation Forum), Dr. Triveni MG, Director of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, shed light on the state's progressive vision for integrating technology in healthcare. She reaffirmed the department’s commitment to strengthening primary and secondary healthcare services, stressing that “the poorest of the poor should also have access to these services.”

Expressing optimism, she said she was hopeful that the aspirations shared by various dignitaries at the forum would become a reality. A major focus of her address was the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in revolutionizing patient care, diagnosis, and treatment. However, she also acknowledged the limitations of AI, underlining the need for systems that are transparent, fair, and committed to patient safety and data privacy.

Dr. Triveni highlighted that Karnataka has already taken baby steps toward adopting AI in healthcare, launching a zero-cost pilot study across eight hospitals in the state. She revealed that incorporating AI in teleradiology systems is being actively considered, along with using AI-powered dashboards to monitor community-based population health parameters.

Her address at LHIF 2025 demonstrated the state’s balanced approach , embracing innovation while ensuring equity and ethical safeguards in public healthcare delivery.
