In an exciting development, Air India has revealed plans to launch non-stop services between Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport and London Gatwick, commencing on August 18. With this addition, Bengaluru will become the fifth Indian city linked to the UK’s second-largest airport.

The new route will significantly enhance Air India’s presence in the UK, fostering stronger economic and cultural connections between India and the UK. According to an official Air India press release, the airline will operate five flights weekly on this route, bringing the total number of flights to and from London Gatwick to 17 per week.

The service will utilize the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, equipped with 18 flat beds in Business class and 238 spacious seats in Economy. “We are delighted to offer our guests convenient, non-stop flights between Bengaluru and London Gatwick. This new route caters to the growing demand for travel between these two important business and leisure destinations, and strengthens our commitment to expanding our global network,” reportedly stated Campbell Wilson, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Air India.

Currently, Air India connects four other Indian cities—Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Goa, and Kochi—to London Gatwick. The airline also operates 31 flights weekly to London Heathrow and six weekly flights to and from Birmingham, further reinforcing its robust network in the UK.
