A catastrophic incident has rocked Ahmedabad as an Air India flight, designated AI-171, crashed just five minutes after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The London-bound Boeing aircraft, carrying 242 passengers including former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, went down in the Meghaninagar area, plunging from a height of 625 feet after losing control. The plane, which took off at 1:10 PM en route to Gatwick Airport, slammed into a residential area, striking a house and triggering a massive fireball. Thick smoke engulfed the site, with mobile videos capturing the horrifying moment of impact, sending shockwaves through the city.

The flight had 230 passengers and 12 crew members on board, but no official updates on casualties or Rupani’s condition have emerged yet. Journalist Zakir Ali Tyagi shared a chilling video, describing the scene as chaotic and warning of significant loss of life. Emergency teams, including firefighters and medical personnel, are on the ground, battling the blaze and rushing the injured to hospitals. The aircraft’s sudden descent has raised questions about a possible technical failure, though investigations are yet to begin.
