The all-women teams included pilots, cabin crew, flight dispatchers, meteorologists, crew controllers, and operations managers, handling flights from takeoff to landing. These flights operated on select routes, including Melbourne—the longest among them—alongside destinations like London Heathrow, Dammam, Muscat, Ras Al Khaimah, Abu Dhabi, Varanasi, Pune, Visakhapatnam, Kolkata, Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada, and Guwahati.

In addition to managing flight operations, women professionals also played key roles in flight scheduling, crew monitoring, and operations control, ensuring smooth execution. The initiative reinforced India’s global lead in the number of women commercial pilots and highlighted Air India’s efforts in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Alongside this symbolic gesture, the airline group also introduced initiatives for women employees and special offers for women passengers. With women occupying key decision-making positions, the airline continues to emphasize a workplace where leadership is driven by talent rather than gender.

The Women’s Day flights showcased the growing presence of women in aviation, reinforcing their capabilities in critical roles and reflecting the industry’s progress toward gender inclusivity.
