After a temporary suspension caused by the June 12 crash, Air India is set to resume international flight operations starting August 1, with full-scale service across all routes beginning from October 1, 2025. The airline had grounded all international operations following the tragic crash involving one of its Boeing 787 aircraft, prompting a comprehensive safety audit and fleet-wide technical inspections.

According to official sources, the safety checks have now been successfully completed, and necessary upgrades and compliance measures have been implemented. With this clearance, the airline is confident in restarting its overseas operations in a phased manner. Initial limited routes will reopen in August, followed by full operations two months later.

Adding to the favorable conditions, the recent ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran has contributed to easing airspace restrictions in the Middle East, which were earlier affecting flight scheduling and rerouting. This has further enabled Air India to plan and resume its global routes without any operational setbacks.

The airline has reassured passengers that all safety protocols are now fully in place and that crew training and aircraft maintenance standards have been elevated following global benchmarks. Passengers who had bookings canceled during the suspension will be prioritized and rebooked as per availability.
