Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport witnessed a shocking incident on the evening of Wednesday, August 28, when an airport staff member was murdered near Terminal 1. The victim, identified as Ramakrishna, who worked as a trolley operator at the airport, was stabbed to death in the parking lot by a man named Ramesh, who suspected Ramakrishna of being involved in an extramarital affair with his wife.

The attack occurred around 6:30 PM, and Ramesh was swiftly apprehended by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) before being handed over to the Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) police. The accused has since been booked for murder.

According to reports, Ramesh, who had been estranged from his wife since 2021 over the alleged affair, traveled from Madhugiri to Yelahanka on a KSRTC bus before arriving at the airport. The confrontation escalated after a heated argument between the two over the phone. Upon reaching the airport, Ramesh spotted Ramakrishna unloading trolleys in the parking lot and attacked him with a knife.

Authorities noted that Ramesh’s bag was not checked as he did not enter the terminal building. The incident has left the airport community in shock, and an investigation is ongoing to uncover further details surrounding the tragic event.
