BJP MLA Muniratna has filed a complaint with the Lokayukta, CBI, and Enforcement Directorate (ED), alleging a ₹2,000 crore corruption scam involving Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and top officials in the Bangalore Urban Development Department.

According to the complaint, ₹1,700 crore was secured as a World Bank loan, while ₹300 crore came from public tax funds as a grant for Bengaluru’s development. However, Muniratna claims these funds were mismanaged, with 15% advance commission paid to contractors linked to leaders in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He also alleges that contracts were awarded to outsiders at the expense of local contractors.

The complaint names D.K. Shivakumar and BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath as the masterminds, accusing them of manipulating tenders and ensuring payments were made through Karnataka Youth Congress members. Muniratna alleges that Girinath, under political pressure, cleared contractor bills in exchange for commissions.

The alleged misappropriation spans multiple constituencies, with Mahadevapura suffering the highest loss at ₹540 crore, followed by Yeshwanthpur (₹232 crore) and Rajarajeshwari Nagar (₹226 crore).

With the complaint now in the hands of investigative agencies, the case is set to spark political tensions in Karnataka, with BJP targeting the ruling Congress government over alleged large-scale corruption.
