At the trailer launch of his latest project, Thandel, Allu Aravind, known for backing hits like Master and Ala Vaikuntapuramulo, reminisced about his role as a presenter in the psychological thriller Ghajini, which marked A.R. Murugadoss’s Hindi directorial debut.

The film, a remake of the Tamil version starring Suriya, was a massive hit, grossing over ₹200 crore. Aravind recalled a pivotal moment on set when Murugadoss confidently predicted Ghajini would be the first film to cross ₹100 crore at the box office—a milestone that seemed impossible at the time.
Reflecting on the industry’s evolution, Aravind expressed his ambition to create a ₹1000 crore film, possibly Ghajini 2. “Rs. 100 crore today is equivalent to ₹1000 crore,” he remarked.
Actor Aamir Khan, who was present at the event, spoke highly of his Laal Singh Chaddha co-star Naga Chaitanya, praising him as an ideal co-star and a "great team player." Khan also mentioned that his son Junaid's debut film Loveyappa will release on the same day as Thandel, February 7.
Thandel, a romance drama inspired by true events, tells the story of a fisherman who drifts into Pakistani waters and is captured. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, the film also stars Sai Pallavi and is set for release on February 7.
