Amazon Prime Video has cancelled ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’, the Indian spin-off of the original Citadel series created by the Russo brothers. The Italian offshoot Citadel: Diana has also been scrapped. Despite this, Amazon confirmed that the main Citadel series, starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden, will return for a second season in Q2 of 2026.

Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, stated that while the international spin-offs are ending, their storylines will be integrated into Season 2 of the original series. He promised high-stakes narratives, new cast additions, and deeper emotional arcs for core characters Nadia, Mason, and Orlick as they continue their fight against the enemy organization, Manticore.
Although Honey Bunny received better critical reception than the original, it was still considered among the weaker works of creators Raj and DK. The cancellation follows the departure of Jennifer Salke, former head of Amazon MGM Studios, who was instrumental in launching the Citadel universe and several other projects. Many of these have since been shelved or cancelled after her exit.
There are also unconfirmed reports that Amazon may have abandoned the upcoming Tomb Raider series starring Sophie Turner.
