Indian cricketing sensation Ambati Rayadu has now stepped into the arena of politics one after he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket including playing for franchise leagues. He joined the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) in the presence of the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. “Famous Indian cricketer Ambati Tirupati Rayudu joined the YSR Congress Party in the presence of Chief Minister Shri YS Jagan at the CM Camp office.Deputy CM Narayana Swamy and MP Peddireddy Mithun Reddy participated in this program,’ the party stated on the microblogging site X (formerly known as Twitter).

Ambati Rayadu’s last on-field appearance was the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. His crucial 8-ball 19 in Chennai Super Kings’ chase helped the team secure a last ball victory and subsequently the trophy for the edition. He had announced his intention to venture into politics at the time of his retirement. “I shall soon enter politics in Andhra Pradesh to serve the people. Before that, I decided to visit different parts of the district to know the people’s pulse and understand their problems. I shall come out with a concrete action plan on how to go about politics and which platform I would choose,” he had said to reporters.
