Amitabh Bachchan dedicates Juhu bungalow to daughter

The Juhu Bungalow of Bollywwod star Amitabh Bachchan named Prateeksha has been gifted to his daughter Shwetha Nanda. The property documents scrutinised by Zapkey, a home sale platform revealed this transfer. A gift deed for the property was put into action on November 8th. A stamp duty of Rs 50.65 lakh was paid for this purpose. The Bungalow is spread across 2 areas sized 890.64 sq.m and 674 sq.m respectively. Both of these are part of the Vithal Nagar Cooperative Housing Society. 

The house was named by Amitabh’s father, poet Harvansh Rai Bachchan. “swagat sabke liye yahan par nahi kisi ke liye prateeksha (all are welcome here but there is no wait for anyone),” Harvansh had said at the time the property was procured. This was Amitabh’s first bungalow. His parents stayed with him in this Bungalow throughout the 70s. 

This act also reflects on the deep bond shared between Amitabh and his daughter Shwetha Nanda. Shwetha is married to businessman Nikhil Nanda. She is an author and runs a fashion label. She had aspirations of acting at a younger age but decided against it due to her fear of cameras and crowds. “It is a tough world and most people do not realise the personal sacrifices made to get to these lofty positions. A lot of my life has been shaped by these very sacrifices made by my parents,” she had said in a letter to DNA.
