The Israeli Air Force carried out a targeted airstrike on the headquarters of Iran’s state broadcaster, IRIB, in central Tehran earlier today, escalating already heightened regional tensions.

Footage from the scene captured the dramatic moment the broadcast was interrupted mid-program. Live images showed the anchor abandoning the studio as the building shook violently. The screen was quickly filled with smoke and debris, while a voice off-camera could be heard shouting, “Allahu Akbar.”

The strike comes after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a public evacuation warning for the area surrounding the IRIB compound, a rare move indicating a premeditated and focused operation. The IDF has not yet confirmed casualties, but local sources report multiple injuries and damage to surrounding buildings.

In a statement following the strike, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said the move was intended to dismantle what he described as “a central pillar of Iranian incitement and disinformation.” His comments were echoed by fellow minister Israel Katz, who remarked, “The Iranian propaganda and incitement mouthpiece is on its way to disappear.”

The attack marks a significant escalation in hostilities between Israel and Iran, following weeks of rising threats and retaliatory rhetoric. Iranian authorities have yet to issue a formal response, but the strike is expected to provoke strong condemnation and potential countermeasures.
