Renowned filmmaker Anurag Kashyap was in Bengaluru for his Kannada film debut with 8. In an exclusive chat with NewsFirst Prime, he shared insights on artificial intelligence, his foray into South Indian cinema, and his longstanding connection with Kannada films.

Kashyap’s association with Sandalwood dates back to the 90s when he spent time in Bengaluru during the shooting of Upendra’s film. On Ram Gopal Varma’s recommendation, he watched A and OM, which deepened his appreciation for Kannada cinema. As a young writer, he also worked in Chennai, where his office was based.
His admiration for Kannada cinema found expression in That Girl in Yellow Boots, where he paid tribute to Dr. Rajkumar. Kashyap has remained in touch with filmmakers in the industry and even tried to secure a buyer for KGF. He believes that cinema transcends language barriers and continues to be a powerful unifier.
Now, with 8, he is set to make his mark in Kannada cinema, further strengthening his ties with the industry.
