The news pertaining to the death of veteran Sandalwood actress and anchor Aparna has created shockwaves across Karnataka. People from all walks of life have expressed their condolences.
Aparna won over hearts for a period of 3-4 decades. There would be a minimal usage of English words when Aparna spoke in Kannada. She entertained the audience in the ‘Maja Talkies’ show. She even appeared on the Bigg Boss Kannada platform. She had earlier worked as a Radio Jockey and even featured on the Kannada Doordarshan channel. “I am saddened by the news of actress Aparna’s death. She had become a household name through her exquisite usage of Kannada in ceremonies held by the government apart from shows in prominent Kannada channels. She left us earlier than expected. May her soul rest in peace. May her family members have the strength to overcome the grief,” Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said.

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President B.Y Vijayendra, former Chief Ministers of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai and H.D Kumaraswamy also expressed their condolences upon this disheartening development. “Her voice could be heard in metro stations, airports, railway stations and bus stations in Kannada. It wasn’t just mechanical. She would make us feel proud of Kannada. She passed away at a young age. This is disheartening,” Director T.N Seetharam said in an interaction with NewsFirst.
