Apple is reportedly preparing a significant redesign for its MacBook Pro lineup in 2026, introducing an OLED display, a slimmer design, and the next-generation M6 chip.

A key highlight of the redesign is the transition to OLED display technology, set to enhance brightness, contrast ratios, and color accuracy. Reports suggest Apple will adopt a Two-Stack Tandem OLED, which boosts both brightness and display longevity. Additionally, Apple is rumored to be eliminating the notch in favor of a smaller hole-punch camera cutout, potentially improving screen immersion.
In terms of form factor, Apple plans to make the MacBook Pro thinner, although specific design changes remain under wraps. Initially slated for a 2025 launch, the redesign was reportedly delayed due to challenges with display technology.
Under the hood, the MacBook Pro will debut the M6 chip, Apple’s first processor built on TSMC’s 2nm process, promising major gains in performance and efficiency. The lineup will include 14-inch and 16-inch models with M6, M6 Pro, and M6 Max variants.
Ahead of this redesign, Apple is expected to launch an M5-powered MacBook Pro later this year, likely in October, along with an updated MacBook Air, focusing primarily on internal upgrades rather than external changes.
