Unlike WWDC 2024’s heavy focus on AI under the “Apple Intelligence” banner, this year’s event shifts attention toward a complete design overhaul of Apple’s software platforms. According to reports, iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS will all adopt a fresh aesthetic inspired by visionOS, the interface seen on the Vision Pro headset. This marks Apple’s most significant UI update since iOS 7.

In a bold move, Apple is likely to skip ahead in version numbers, renaming iOS 18 as iOS 26, aligning with macOS 26 and iPadOS 26, pointing to a unified branding strategy.

The redesign is expected to include revamped icons, cleaner menus, and app-level UI animations. A redesigned Camera app is also anticipated.

While AI isn’t the event’s headline act, some new Apple Intelligence features may arrive on watchOS and AirPods, continuing Apple’s push for device-level smart features.

On the hardware front, Apple could debut its powerful new M5 chip for Macs and potentially introduce a HomePad, a smart home device. A teaser of the iPhone 17 Air is also on the cards.

WWDC 2025 may define Apple’s next big design era.
