Key Price Hikes Effective from April 1
Milk Prices: Increased by ₹4 per liter.
Electricity Tariff: To rise by 36 paise per unit.
Garbage Cess: ₹12 per kg, as per BBMP’s new order.
Water Tariff: Water board proposes a hike; awaiting approval.
Auto Meter Fare: Base fare likely to rise from ₹30 to ₹40.
Vehicle Tax:
- Lifetime tax on vehicles under ₹10 lakh.
- 10% tax for electric vehicles over ₹25 lakh.
Toll Fees: 5% hike on all toll charges.
Tea & Coffee Prices: Increased by 15%, following the milk price hike.
Cascading Price Shocks
Metro Fare: Already increased by 46%.
Government Bus Fare: Hiked by 15%.
Electricity Tariff: Increased to meet pension and gratuity costs of employees.
KERC: Ordered an additional hike of 0.36 paise per unit.
Beer Prices: Increased by ₹10–₹40 since January.
