Come August 4, you will see all the queer community in the city and from across places come together at their year-long awaited annual queer film festival in the city.
The 13th edition of the Bangalore Queer Film Festival (BQFF) will be held for three days from August 4 to 6 in Bengaluru. The inaugural day of the festival would be held at the Alliance Française de Bangalore at Vasanth Nagar in Bengaluru, while the remaining two days of the festival will be held at Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan in Indiranagar.
The first edition of this festival was held in 2010, and since then there has been no looking back for the queer community.
Queer films from countries like Tibet and Myanmar including many other queer films from across places in the country will be screened at this festival.
The Quiet Solace of Sunset directed by Tenzin Choedon, Two Souls directed by Myat Noe and Bad Behaviour directed by Rency Philip are a few of the noted queer films that will be featured at the festival.
It has been for a very longtime that the LGBTQIA+ community was stigmatised, but these are the days where they are well received happily in the society with the latest of things coming in their favour like LGBTQIA+ community having content specific to its community on streaming services like Netflix.
