Union Minister Kiren Rijiju expressed deep concern over the flooding in Arunachal Pradesh and its impact on neighboring Manipur. He shared visuals of the crisis and emphasized the need for solidarity, urging everyone to support relief efforts. “Heartbreaking to see Manipur battling devastating floods, homes lost, lives disrupted. Let’s stand together, support relief efforts, and show the people of Manipur they are not alone in this tough time,” he said.

In response to the disaster, the Indian Air Force, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and state agencies have launched extensive rescue and humanitarian assistance missions across Manipur and the broader Northeast. Helicopters have been deployed to evacuate stranded residents from inundated areas, while relief camps are providing food, medical care, and shelter.

Manipur’s disaster management teams are working around the clock, clearing blocked roads, restoring communication links, and distributing essential supplies. Schools and government offices in affected districts have been temporarily closed, and residents have been advised to stay vigilant and follow safety protocols.

This crisis follows similar devastation in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, and Mizoram, which are all facing the aftermath of heavy monsoon rains. The central and state governments are coordinating to ensure timely support and resources reach those affected.
