Crackers are being sold at inflated prices
Fake lables are being stuck on boxes
The rates are 150% more than actual prices
It’s that time of the year when we all revel in Deepavali festivities. We light up the skies with crackers, thereby shunning darkness and welcoming brightness.
But when we buy crackers, we should also be smart enough to note that these crackers are being sold at inflated prices.
NewsFirst Prime learns that cracker sellers are pasting phoney fake rate labels on the boxes and selling them.
As you get ready to purchase crackers, beware! Cracker sellers are selling crackers at extremely high prices. NewsFirst Prime learns that sellers are pasting fake MRP stickers on the actual prices and hoodwinking gullible customers.

Vivek, a cracker buyer, who spoke exclusively to us, says, “After returning home, I realised that the rates were inflated by 150%. I spent about Rs 10,000. But I realised that the actual worth is Rs 3000. I went back and spoke to them about the manipulation. But they didn’t care to reply to me.”
Apart from these cost issues, also be aware that we can’t burst crackers which contain harmful chemicals. As per a Supreme Court order, such crackers are banned completely. Only green crackers, which are not harmful to the environment, can be burst.
Let’s remember that as we burst crackers, let’s also not harm the environment. After all, without a good environment, no festival adds any value to it.
