India's cricket team has taken a commanding 2-0 lead in the five-match T20I series against England, showcasing stellar performances in the opening two matches. With the third match being played at Rajkot, India is eyeing a series win. Meanwhile, England’s lackluster batting has drawn criticism, with former Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin offering a sharp analogy for their struggles.

On his YouTube channel, Ashwin likened England’s batting approach to navigating Bengaluru’s notorious traffic. “When you play in India, you can't play in one tempo. If you drive in Bengaluru traffic, you can't always be in the fourth gear. Sometimes, you can't even go to the fourth gear (laughs),” he remarked, emphasizing the need to adapt to conditions rather than relying solely on aggressive tactics.

Ashwin praised India’s fearless batting approach but cautioned against ignoring pitch dynamics. “The fearless, daredevil approach of Team India is good, especially in the powerplay. However, you need to respect the conditions. In cricket, it is said that conditions are the king.”

England’s struggles in adapting were evident in the second T20I, where Jos Buttler was the lone bright spot in their batting lineup. India, while chasing 166, faced challenges but a heroic 72* from Tilak Varma ensured victory with four balls to spare.

As the series continues, Ashwin’s remarks underline the importance of flexibility and awareness in cricket’s ever-changing conditions.
