Indian Organ Donation Day on August 03 observed by state government

Health department felicitated around 150 families who donated organs

Heads of various religions came together to celebrate the cause of organ donation

In an event in Bengaluru on the occasion of Indian Organ Donation Day on August 03 today, the Karnataka Ministry of Health and Family Welfare named Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar as the brand ambassador of the Karnataka government’s organ donation campaign in the state.

The late veteran actor Dr Rajkumar’s family is highly regarded across Karnataka for being the epitome of carrying out humanitarian work. Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar who is carrying forward the family’s legacy has been made the brand ambassador for organ donation in the state.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao had recently invited Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar to be the brand ambassador.

At the event, the state’s health department felicitated around 150 families who donated organs for people needing it and bestowed a new lease of life to patients with their most humane gesture of donating their organs.

Ashwini Puneet Rajkumar was the chief guest at the Indian Organ Donation Day celebrations event held in Bengaluru on August 3.

State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) Karnataka that was registered in 2017 takes the third position in the world for organ donation. One body donation can save upto 8 lives.
