Asian Games: Indian men win gold in 10m air rifle

  • Cumulative score of 1893.7 overcame China’s previously held record of 1893.3

Divyansh Singh, Rudrankksh Patil and Aishwary Pratap Singh broke the world record for highest points accumulated in the 10 meter air rifle event earning them the gold medal.19-year-old Rudrankksh Patil exhibited his exceptional talent by scoring 632.5, while Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar recorded 631.6, and Divyansh Singh Panwar contributed 629.6 points to take the cumulative score to 1893.7. This overcame China’s previously held record of 1893.3 which they managed to achieve in the World Championship held last year. They had a clear lead of 3.2 with South Korea who finished with the silver medal.

Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar also secured the bronze medal in the individual event. Rudrankksh Patil finished 5th in the event. Despite having qualified for the final Divyansh Singh Panwar was not able to participate as the Asian Games rules allows no more than two participants in the finals representing the same country.
