Assam: BJP leader committed suicide after intimate photos got leaked

48-year-old Indrani Tahbildar was the Kishan Morcha Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She was the vice president of the chambers of commerce as well.

Her photos with a top BJP leader had leaked on social media. They were sharing an intimate moment. She is said to have been closely associated with that leader. It is being speculated that this might have acted as a trigger for the unfortunate tragedy that had unfolded.

She was found dead at her house which is located in Bamunimaidam, Guwahati. The Guwahati police have taken cognisance of the situation. A case of unnatural death has been filed and investigations are underway pertaining to the matter. Currently her body has been sent to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for the purpose of a postmortem. Efforts are also underway to identify how the photos got leaked in the first place and to identify the person responsible for it.
