Astronomer, a prominent software company, has placed CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot on administrative leave following public backlash over a viral video captured at a Coldplay concert. The incident, which unfolded during a "kiss cam" moment, showed Byron embracing Cabot from behind as their image was broadcast on the venue’s big screen. The executives appeared startled and attempted to conceal their faces, but the footage quickly spread across social media, drawing widespread criticism and raising questions about workplace professionalism.

In an official statement issued two days after the event, Astronomer acknowledged the video and confirmed that the company’s Board of Directors has launched an internal investigation. The company emphasized its commitment to high ethical standards, saying, “Our leaders are held to the highest standards of behavior and accountability.”

Addressing online speculation, Astronomer also clarified that the woman in the video was not Vice President of Human Resources Alyssa Stoddard, pushing back against misinformation circulating on social platforms.

As the investigation proceeds, the company announced that co-founder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy will step in as interim CEO in Byron’s absence. Kristin Cabot has also been relieved of her duties temporarily while the inquiry is underway.
