Gautam Adani has secured the top position in the 2024 Hurun India rich list, amassing a wealth of ₹11.6 lakh crore, surpassing Mukesh Ambani. The report, released by Hurun India, highlights India's rapid wealth creation, noting that the country minted a new billionaire every five days over the past year.

The list also introduces new and younger faces, with 21-year-old Kaivalya Vohra of Zepto becoming the youngest billionaire, closely followed by his 22-year-old co-founder, Aadit Palicha. Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan made his debut on the list, thanks to the rising value of his holdings in the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders. The entertainment industry saw significant growth, with seven new entrants collectively adding ₹40,500 crores in just one year.

The Ambani family retained their status as the most valuable family business in India, with a net worth of ₹25.75 lakh crore. The Bajaj family followed with ₹7.13 lakh crore, while the Birlas secured third place with ₹5.39 lakh crore. The Adani family, with a valuation of ₹15.44 lakh crore, topped the list of first-generation families with active second-generation leaders, ahead of the Poonawalla family, valued at ₹2.37 lakh crore.
