In a shocking daylight robbery, two State Bank of India (SBI) employees lost their lives in a violent attack outside the bank's head office in Bidar. The incident unfolded when the employees were depositing cash into an ATM, carrying lakhs of rupees in a PSC vehicle.

The attackers, armed and prepared, ambushed the staff by throwing salt powder in their eyes before opening fire. Giri Venkatesh, an SBI employee, was fatally shot on the spot. Another employee, Shivakumar, sustained severe injuries and succumbed at the hospital, leaving their families and colleagues in deep shock.

Eyewitness accounts revealed that the assailants fired five rounds, seized the cash box, and fled the scene. The harrowing act was partially captured on a bystander’s phone, aiding ongoing investigations. Authorities have deployed a dog squad and fingerprint experts to analyze the crime scene, while police are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the culprits.

This audacious heist has left the community in grief and fear, as it highlights the growing boldness of criminals targeting financial institutions. The incident underscores the urgent need for enhanced security measures during cash transfers, especially in high-risk areas.

The families of the deceased have called for swift justice, urging authorities to intensify their efforts to bring the perpetrators to book.
