A man identified as Manav Sharma died by suicide on February 24, reportedly due to distress over his troubled marriage and legal complications surrounding his impending divorce. His family has alleged that he was under immense pressure and faced threats that made him believe separating from his wife would be extremely difficult.

According to his sister, Manav had been struggling with the breakdown of his marriage with Niketa after learning about her alleged affairs in January 2025. The couple had initially agreed to a mutual divorce, but he was later warned that the legal process would not be in his favour. This reportedly pushed him into severe emotional turmoil.

His family claimed that an earlier attempt at suicide in January was prevented when his parents intervened. However, on February 23, instead of proceeding with the legal separation as planned, Manav was allegedly taken to his wife’s parental home, where he was again discouraged from seeking a divorce. A day before his death, he confided in his father about the mounting pressure he faced.

Before ending his life, Manav recorded an emotional video, accusing his wife of infidelity. His father has since lodged a police complaint, but no arrests have been made. The case has drawn comparisons to a similar incident in Bengaluru, where Atul Subhash also died by suicide citing marital distress.
