  • In all, three idols of Ram Lalla were sculpted
  • Arun Yogiraj's idol made the final cut
  • The other two will be placed at other places

While the idol sculpted by Karnataka’s Arun Yogiraj was installed ritualistically at the Ayodhya Ram temple, here is another idol sculpted by another Kannadiga sculptor Ganesh L Bhat.

The third Ram Lalla idol was chiselled by Satyanarayan Pandey of Rajasthan. He has carved it using a white marble and it too looks beautiful.

Though there is no official confirmation on how the two other idols would be used or positioned, NewsFirst Prime learns that they would be placed in different floors of the temple.

The idol carved by Arun Yogiraj

The idol that is being worshipped today by millions of Ram bhakts at the Ayodhya temple was chiselled by Arun Yogiraj. It is 51 inches in length and 3 metres wide. It stands majestically on a pedestal having the navagrahas or the nine planets.

It is carved out of Krishnashile. This rock was specifically chosen from Karnataka’s Mysuru district.

PM performs consecration

It was on January 22 that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the pran pratishtha of the Ram Lalla idol. He had been on a fast for 11 preceding days. At the shrine where the rituals took place, he was flanked by UP CM Yogi Adityanath, governor Anandiben Patel, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat.
