Ayodhya’s Shri Ram Mandir has emerged as a major religious tourism hub, drawing an unprecedented number of devotees while also contributing significantly to government revenues. According to reports, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerthakshetra Trust has paid ₹400 crore in taxes over the past five years.

Trust Secretary Champat Rai revealed that from February 5, 2020, to February 5, 2025, the temple trust paid ₹270 crore in GST and ₹130 crore to various tax departments. The growing influx of devotees has also boosted local employment and business opportunities in Ayodhya.

The temple witnessed a record-breaking 16 crore devotees in the past year alone, reflecting its increasing religious and cultural significance. During the Mahakumbh Mela, which draws millions of pilgrims, around 1.26 crore people visited the temple to seek the blessings of Shri Ram Lalla.

With daily footfall rising steadily, Ayodhya is rapidly establishing itself as a prime religious tourism destination. The Shri Ram Mandir’s completion and subsequent opening have further fueled the surge in visitors, solidifying its role as a spiritual and economic center in the region.
